Any electric fans out there that handle 400hp?
Hey guys, I'm looking for an electric fan set up that can handle my mods. Most of the ones I've seen are rated to 300hp. Also, because of my FMS aluminum radiator and my Powerdyne, clearance is an issue. The electric fan assembly can ba no thicker than 3.75". Anyone out there run and electric fan with a blower? Thanks. |
Use the flex lite 19 inch fan with toggle switch. Mount it on the driver side near the bottom. Take Care

Where can I find one?

My cooling system consists of a Stewart high flow water pump, a cheap @ss Pep Boys 3 core radiator, and a cheap @ss Auto Zone electric fan. The hole setup works great and my car runs cooler than it should actually. Partially because I need a new thermostat, but before adding these components it overheated when it was hot out.
I know a good fan helps, but I think a good water pump and radiator will definately make up for a less than adequate fan. Just an option I thought I'd throw at ya. As far as the Flex-a-Lite fan everybody uses them and they can be had from nearly anyone that sells Stang parts. I know www.summitracing.com, www.holcombmotorsports.com, www.jegs.com, and www.brothersperformance.com sells them. Race Parts 2 probably does too (look in Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords mag). ------------------ Gunning for 12's! http://www.indianastangers.com/2Fast..._brd_logo2.gif Buy your parts here ICQ# 42269241 |
I have your setup... aluminum FMS rad. with Powerdyne.
I recently put in the Interactive Systems electric fan and a 130 amp alternator. The fan wasn't a direct fit due to the blower. To make clearance I had to modify the mounting frame to get the motor as close to the radiator as possible. It works and the car cools way better. Thank goodness for friends who work in tool shops! Over-all I am happy with the setup, I do think they could use a bigger fan though, the 15" fan they give you doesn't fill the shroud. It works, but I keep wondering how much better it would work if they'd used an 18" dia. fan. ------------------ '92 GT conv. TFS heads, GT40, Powerdyne 9#, AOD, 3.73 My Mustang Page |
