what heads for supercharger

I am now building a brand new block f9 302 it has forged pistons flat tops, i hope they will work, with this set up, forged steel crank h beam rods, arp hardware, i plan to run about 10 pounds of boost on it and was wondering which heads will work best for me? i was thinking tfs or canfield 202 160 valves, and the intake will probly be cobra upper and lower ported of course, also any cam recomendations will the b-303 work with a blower? also how much power with this make and how many rpms will it take??? i figure about 7200.. one more thing my car is a 5 speed car how long will it last? the 95 t-5s had the 330 torque rating dint they but i guess it doesnt matter cause ill have more than 430, any input it appreciated..

First of all with the b303 cam 7200rpm is nothing but a dream. Chances are that you will need a sold cam if you want to spin it that fast. As far as the heads go, canfields will be a exellent choice if you are building a blown high rpm motor. Canfields may be a little big on a 302 if you are only going to take it up around 6000rpm wich is where you will be making max hp with the b303.

The systemax intake would be a better choice if you are going with a high cfm head. You would spend more money in the long run buying the cobra intake and port work to get it to flow where you want.

I agree with Wade.

As for the heads, to get the most out of them, I would have them ported - favoring the exhaust side. Trick flow, Canfield's, etc. should all work well.

Good luck,

I don't quite like the idea of spinning that 302 with that rpm....6000-6500 should be all you need, and if it is street driven(which I imagine it is) you won't want that high rpm power. You will need serious porting and a nasty cam to get that high of power. Centrifugal blowers usually boost out around 6000 anyways, so that should be enough.

Also, I wouldn't go with the Bcam. I would look into Anderson cams or a good Lunati Blower grind. Blower cars are different than N/A cars.

As far as heads....TFS, Canfield, and AFR's flow the best, wih TFS being the most wallet friendly. I would also look into getting a better intake. If you are wanting hi-rpm power, those GT-40 and Cobra runners will be too long. Holley is the best by far for a all around street car, and it produces up to 6500, and morre if ported good. Trick Flow Intakes ar also good, but Holley takes the cake.

Now, for your tranny.....don't even try it with that much power. You would be lucky to go a month with it. That much power will eat that tranny up faster than Fat Mama Cass after a hot dog.

I woud save up for a good Tremec 3550 or TKO(the TKO requires modifications such as different headers, clutch, and pilot bearings, etc...)

Good luck
