EGR bocked by phenolic spacer
I am having cold start stalling problems. in adjusted tps to 1.0 volts, and replaced IAC.The condition got slightly better.I have the GT40 upper and lower with FMS 5/8 phenolic spacer which blocks EGR to lower intake, this setup negates EGR.Could a bad EGRvalve or sensor still create this stalling when cold or should i look elsewhere?maybe TPS. set lower .98?

Your TPS should never be set at 1v. Try .95v. By having the voltage too high, the computer will sense part throttle and then allow some of the emissions stuff to be active when they shouldn't be.
You should also disconnect and plug the EGR vacuum line so that the valve cannot be opened. If the computer senses it opening it will adjust timing accordingly which may cause pinging. You can't disconnect the EGR valve position sensor, either. That would cause a bigger problem with the computer. Simply put a golf tee in the end of the vacuum hose going to the EGR valve. ------------------ 351W 89 Mustang GT Convertible |
