Went 12.85 at almost 107mph in my NA convert'!!!!

I just keep getting happier and happier with the way my car runs! I went to the track for the last time this year on thursday, and I ran a new best. The air was great, and although the temps were really cold, I was still able to hook up somewhat! My car is a 95GT convertible that weighs 3700lbs with me. Stock it ran a 15.2 at 90mph. Now, on all motor with a 100% stock bottom end with 60K miles on it I ran a:

12.85 at 106.96mph with a 1.89 60'

I can't wait to get it dyno'd. I should be over 300RWHP now, but I want dyno numbers to prove it, not just a guess based on my weight and trap speed. My combo isn't anything outstanding or exotic, but it seems I picked it right with the help of Ed Curtis of FTI. My original goal was to trap 105mph, but now I want 108! I guess its the HP disease, we're never happy. I should be though because I gained 8.41mph with just heads, cam, MAF, injectors, and a fuel pump! What do you all think?

Kick *** , man. Wasn't too long ago you were running high 13's on stock ported heads. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

Yeh, it wasn't that long ago that I was running 13.83 at 98.55 with 100% stock heads, cam, rockers, tail pipes, flow tubes, MAF, injectors, etc. At that time I was happy, but it couldn't compare to the way I feel now! I'm seriously in utter amazement that my car is capable of so much! I mean, when you look at what I have in terms of setup, it doesn't seem that my combo would do what it does. And the cam... it sounds almost stock! Over winter I want to play with the timing tables and MAF tables with the EEC Tuner to try to get that extra 10 or so HP I need to break 108mph, but if it doesn't happen, I won't be real disappointed, I mean how could I be!

Congrats, Man! That's great!

What type of tires are you running and how do you launch?

Again, Congratulations! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

That is awesome. I would bet a ton of power was to be had in the EEC tuner. Most all motor, 3700 lb 302's don't run that well!!!

I run my car on Nitto 555R drag radials on both the street and strip. They are 245-50-16's. I run them with ~18lbs of pressure, and launch at 2200-3000 depending on track conditions. I also do a nice healthy burnout, the length of which depends on the outside temperature. Usually I do about a 5-8 second burnout.

Actually, I haven't done much with the EEC Tuner yet. All I've changed is my idle, tip in, timing retard, global spark adder (works like advancing the timing via the distributor) and my WOT fuel settings- I made it 7% rich from 3000+rpm's the night I ran my best, however, it only gained .4mph doing this. The best I went before the EEC Tuner was a 13.2 at 105.17, BUT, I only made two trips to the track before I added the tuner, so I believe I could have gotten more out of it. I think my power is from the AFR heads and FTI custom cam, Ed really does wonders. Check out his site for some of his other cars he's set up: http://www.flowtechinduction.com look under the evaluations section.

Thanks for all the compliments, I really appreciate it.
