Sounds like you need to lay off the sweet feed for a while. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif Verts are heavy but that sounds like its too high.

PKRWUD 10-24-2001 07:18 AM

She only weighed 3298 pounds (dry) new. You might want to try removing that lead hood and trunk, and maybe get rid of those cement doors.

Either your scale is way off, or you have 900 pounds of aftermarket extras installed.

Take care,
-Chris

The figure on your door sticker is the vehicle gross weight which means the maximum amount of weight the car - actually the tires - will safely hold....about 1000 pounds + the weight of the car, which is, as Chris and others mentioned, around 3300 - 3400 pounds.

This is a commeon error a lot of folks make.

10-24-2001 02:23 PM

I've got a '90 LX and it barely ways 3100 lbs w/ me (200 lbs in it). I think you're reading your vehicle's serial # or something http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif. That thing should not weigh anymore than 3800-3900 lbs w/ you in it.
