Got The Rest Of My Exhaust, But How Do I Put On The H-Pipe???

Well, Now I Have Gathered A Complete Exhaust, But I Need To Know If I Need A Hoist To Put On My Off Road H Pipe?
Do I Need To Jack The Motor Up???

I Havnt Put On The Headers Yet, But Would LLike To Soon, But THe Installation Time Is My Main Problem...

I Got My Exhaust For A Sweet Deal
BBK 1-5/8" Equal Shortys $40 (Used)
2.5" Off Road H Pipe $50 (Used)
Dynomax Super Turbo Cat-Back $305 (New)
So It Adds Up To About $400 Canadian Dollars.

Think I Could Hit A 14.2 Or Better Once The Exhaust Is All On??

Oh Yeah, I Am Putting On Some New Tires Soon....

I had to jack the motor up on the passenger side to get that header on. I could not get it between the strut tower and the motor without doing so. I have stock motor mounts on my 'vert which allowed for a little play. The driver side bolted up without jacking it up. And I had to use Fel-Pro 1416 (could be 1614) header gaskets. The stock one's are dwarfed by the bigger headers! By the way, did you port out the headers? Mine had alot of welding to Dremel out.

The h-pipe, for me, was pretty easy. I had the help of 3 other buds and we installed it all where we work at Tires Plus. I had to put the o2 sensors on last after bolting it up. The h-pipe hangers had to be buzzed off. I didn't have to jack the motor up for it either.

When you are doing the cat-back, the higher you can get the car up the better. Especially if the tailpipes are all one piece.

After my install with my 2.73's I REALLY notice the xtra power after 3k rpm's

When I put my H-Pipe on all I had to do was drive up onto a set of ramps. It only took about an hour with 4 guys(one on each corner of the H-Pipe). It was relly easy. Also make sure to let your car cool for a while because it'll be hot.

BowTieEater5Liter,

Ooops, my bad, you gotta sweet ride there! You must get alot of compliments on it. After the exhaust, you will have to beat the girls off with an ugly stick!

zepherman 11-05-2001 11:38 PM

I jacked the front end up about a foot, got under the car and pulled the h-pipe on top of me and installed it alone. its really not that hard. Install the 02's after you bolt up the h-pipe.

Nice picture, those exhaust leaks really suck when its cold outside LOL.
