Front tire/wheel

How wide can one go on the front tires of a 88-93 without rubbing when you turn?

Unit 5302 02-09-2001 01:41 PM

Well actually you could go 245/55R15 on the 87-90's probably, but you might need a tie rod end kit to limit max steering a little.

A 91-93 will have no problems at all with a 245.

My problem is the opposite. I want to go thin & light. I've been looking for a set of second hand draglites in R.I. with no luck.

I'm also considering 85-86 T-bird spares. they are 15x4 4lugs & have the right backspacing. when I check local yards first they look at me like I'm crazy then they quote about $25 per but no one seems to have them.

Trying to sell an original set of ten holes is like trying to find a date for your ugly sister.

Hi,
I had a problem with rubbing with 235/60/15 on my 89 LX 5.0L. I had to settle with 225/60/15. I originally had 225/50/16 which had no rubbing problem (well it had VERY LITTLE if you turn all the way but nothing major). I think if you choose wider tires, consider low profiles.

Super9089 You think you have it worse. I got two different rim types (TSWs 5-star chromies up front, 5-star Prime up back), and you think I'm havin success trying to sell them? Hell no! No one wants to buy two differetn rims, and I can't exactly find similar TSW rims anywhere, which kinda sux. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...rd/biggrin.gif

Bye!

I have 245/45/17 on my Cobra R's and they rub a little in the front on the ground effect with the wheel cut all the way.
