well the normal iron GT40 heads are no longer being produced so the best place to find them is either in a classifieds section or your best bet is to scour eBay for them. They're also normally a pretty popular item at swap meets.
If you are willing to buy a new set of headers, the GT40P heads are going for a pretty good price. Summit has started carrying them completely assembled for like $540 a pair. You'll have to get a set of motorsport headers though because the spark plug is at a different angle. hope this helps -Drew

What year and type of vehicles did they come on? Maybe you could find some still in a car at a junk yard! Just a thought!

they came on cobras and lightnings as well as some boats. mine were from a 351 marine application.
the cobra heads im sure are 64cc combustion chambers and the lightnings are i think 65cc or so since they are a 351w motor... the lightning heads also come with 1/2" bolt holes compared to the mustangs 7/16". hope this helps, it will be a real tough time trying to find them in a junkyard. i tried. take care, adam

The GT40 Irons had 65.5cc combustion chambers that will drop your compression ratio from 8.9:1 to 8.75:1. The irons flow a little less than the GT40P's, about 185-190cfm intake, and about 130cfm exhaust.
A solid head, if you pick it up for under $400. Otherwise, getting a new set of GT40P's for $500, then adding the headers is probably the way I would go. Oh, and I'd also have the irons decked for some actual compression. |

FWIW, the GT-40P heads have both smaller exhaust valves and smaller combustion chambers, than the regular GT-40 heads.
Take care, -Chris
