Unhappy Problems installing aluminum rack bushings

The directions say to cut the tubes that pass through the K-member so they protrude slightly into the rack when installed. Unfortunately, I cut one side too short. It sits flush with the K-member when installed. How critical is that fit? I have not cut the other side yet, so I am making sure I mark that one correctly so I don't cut it too short.

Will it be ok or will I need to get a new tube? Is that a dealer only item?

Thanks,
Eric
