Procharger D-1SC intercooled on a 351W
 

Hey guys, I'm in the process of buying ( a month or 2) a blower from ATI. I have talked to the guys there and at another place that sells them and the basic setup I'm looking at seems to be a Procharger D1-SC intercooled (3-core) blower kit for a carbureted 351W with 8.5:1 compression, better flowing heads and exhaust.

This is a long shot, but I like to pass things by you guys cause MW is a good source of info by a lot of experience folks. Do any of you know of anyone running this setup or one on a carbureted 5.0? and if so, how does that look to you from what you have seen with the similar supercharger systems. I am pretty much set on this setup, but I like to hear people's opinions/experiences too if I have that access.

Fox Body - I don't know of anyone that has this exact setup.

Is there something about the kit that you're concerned with? Or maybe a quality question that you have? Or a technical question with regard to the blower?

I would think that the kit would be rather complete and ProCharger has a good reputation with quality so I would imagine that you would be pleased with it.

I am running a P600B w/ 3 core on a fuel injected 351W and love it, I was going to get a D1SC but found a used blower for a 1/4 of the price for the D1SC and sheet metal intercooler.

I would go with the D1SC I am running 12lb pulley on my 600b and am only seeing 6 to 7 psi, I going to try my other pulleys 14/17lb and see how much I can get out of it. If I can get 12-14lb out of the P600B I'll be happy.

If I ever decide to stroke my 351 I will have to step up to the D-series, because I may be at the limit with the P600B.

302 LX Eric, No specific questions, just general broad ones as like the ones above. The Procharger guys pretty much answered all my technical questions. I am just seeking advice from perhaps someone who has had that same or similar setup (such as Tony91LX) and have experienced it for themselves and can personally share some thoughts. You know, the things the company reps can't tell you...good points/bad points. That's all. I am pretty much set on it.

Are you running that blower on 8.5:1 compression? Seems like you have had good experiences with Procharger..


....See, that's all I really wanted, just to see what you guys have experience with them. If there is anymore comments, let me know...anyone. If not, thanks to those who replied.

I think is more like 8.8 with the heads (TFTW), but its basicly a stock lighting short block, keeping the boost low because of the Hyper pistions.

If I blow it up this year, I build it right over the winter.
