Default profourm fan help

I bought the profourm fan for my mustang and there seems to be a big difference between my engine temp reading and the radiator reading, about a 30 degree difference, my temp reads around 210 before the fan kicks on which is set at the lowest setting of 180. the fans sending unit is a copper wire that sits against the radiator, is there a way to change this sender some how, or rewire the fan and tie this into my sending unit in the manifold, I know there’s several types of two post senders I can buy, but my gauge is an autometer and it uses its Owen special sending unit. I sent an e-mail to profourm but haven't heard anything.

Well I discovered I had more sensor wire after I took the cover off the top, it was tucked in there pretty good, I originally had the sensor on the side of the fan tucked under the rubber seal to hold it, I didn’t want to set this on the top fins in case the radiator ran low and then I wouldn’t get the right reading, since I found the extra length I still have the sensor on the side but away from the fan and I fed it through the fins, so it’s sticking about half way into the radiator, not crazy about the way it looks so I might lay the sensor flat against the radiator and use the wire ties that came with it.
