I'm planning on upgrading to a new set of 1.7 rocker arms and figured I might as well replace the stock pushrods. The problem is that I'm running into different size pushrods available for the roller cams. Comp Cams has a set that are 6.250, Ford Racing has a set that are 6.272, and Crane has a set that's 6.258 inches long. I would think that the Ford racing rods would give the stock cam with 1.7 rockers would be a good combo with my Comp Cams valve springs. But I'm worried about too much valve lift, and piston to valve clearence..

Get an adjustable pushrod length checker.

Color the valve tip with some black magic marker. install the checker and rocker arm. manually rotate the engine a few times. take the rocker off. check where the marker was rubbed off. it should be worn off in a stripe sideways across the middle of the valve tip. measure the length checker. Presto.

Why are you replacing the pushrods? Is there something wrong with them?

Nothing's wrong with them, but I figured since I already had them taken apart, I might as well replace them. They are basically one of the only stock components left in the motor.
