Qs about Bypass Valve install

I picked up the cheap bypass valve from superchargersonline.com awhile ago for my Powerdyne. I have not intalled it yet because I don't really know what I have to do. I understand the basics of it I just dont know about the tapping or drilling part. Can I just drill it out myself or do I need to have someone tap it with threads? Do I need to glue it or teflon tape it? Do I need to trim the left over threading on the barb that will be sticking inside the pipe? Are the plastic barbs going to take the heat?

Thanks for the help
I really want to get that thing in there ASAP

Bypassing

Chip,

The bypass valve is plumbed between the intake line to the supercharger and the discharge tube. Each point where the lines to and from the valve meet the intake or dicharge should have a "boss". This is a threaded stub that accepts the nipple for the valve's hoses. Threading into an elbow or tube that does not have a boss is not the way to go.

I would imagine that Powerdyne produces the bossed elbows and discharge tube for installation of a bypass valve, if they're still in business. I know Vortech sells them, but they're not cheap.

Thanks I got all that (never thought of just not screwing it in all the way) but I do not want to spend the extra money on a new power pipe. I was told that I could use the one I have now. I would like to know if I can just drill it out myself or do I have to have it tapped with treads and if I need to use somthing on the treads like glue.

Thanks for the Help
Chip
