Default porting upper intake

I will be taking my upper intake off at the end of the week to finish polishing it, would it be beneficial to port the upper while it is off or would the air just get turbulent when it hits the unported lower? What do yall think?

I'm not sure how much it will help, but the more resistance you remove from the air's path the better. Any polishing you do to the upper will benefit you somehow, I'm just not sure how much.
