Question Question about nitrous

I am about to buy a ZEX nitrous kit from my friend. It's the universal one that works with '94-98 Mustangs. I have a few questions before I buy tho.

1) Is this thing safe or not? Am I going to be putting in allot of wrench time after awhile with this thing? I've heard that a 75 shot will be ok for the 5.0, but no higher. Is this true?

2) Is there any precautionary items I should buy too? I've heard of nitrous destroying engines due to lean conditions. Why does this happen? How can I prevent this?

3) I run a 14.5 right now with small bolt-ons. What will I see with a 55 or 75 shot?

4) Is $275 a good price for a used kit with 6 jets and a bottle pressure guage?

thanks guys.
