Default Idle problem, what could it be?

Its when i push in the clutch, it stays idled up longer than it used to, sometimes when i stop at a light, it will hang around 1800-2 rpm? but will eventually go down if i give it time, it wasnt always like this, should i check tps voltage?

thnx for any help

Bingo!

But, clean out yours first, get a new gasket, or make one from a cereal box.

Then get the AUTOZONE replaceament, by the way AUTOZONE SUCKS!...I know, I work there! LOL!

And yes, check your TPS too, and check for vacuum leaks too, use a plant sprayer with mild soapy water.

Check the 10 pin connector the big whitr ones on the intake manifold. Unplug them and clean them. Somethimes it's best to wire tie them together. Go to you Ford dealer and get a idle air controll kit. Part number F2PZ-9F939-A, about 20 bucks. This is a kit Ford made to correct idle problems. RAY THE PARTS MGR.

Check voltage at the TP sensor when you get this idle. I datalogged mine and thought it was my AIB. Turned out that my TP sensor was sending a higher voltage in damp or cold mornings and kicked the idle up. Also check the cable connection at the TP sensor. Mine later came unplugged slightly after working around it since the clip was broken. It wouldn't hold an idle and die at times.
