![]() I just finished installing a new 190 fuel pump. It sounded great when I started at an idle but when I drove it and stopped at a light the car idles very rough and low. It feels like it wants to turn off. When i hit the gas it has no power until I gradually get to 1500 rpm then its ok? Can Any on help? Thanks

![]() If your battery was disconnected for a long time, then I would say to give the computer a chance to "re-learn" it's settings.
At least this was the case when my g/f taurus got a water pump replacement. It idled like crap for a a day and then returned to normal.

![]() I did not realize that the computer had to re-learn fuel pump settings. So should I try driving it or can the computer adjust at an idle?

![]() When the battery is disconnected for more than 10 min. (I think) and then reconnected, the computer "resets" itself.
We took my g/f Taurus to the garage to have the water pump replaced and it idled like crap and stalled sometimes when we got it back. I was thinking "what the hell...?" I figured the computer needed to reset itself and would get better in a few hours. It worked. When I read your post, I thought about the Taurus and was thinking maybe you had the same problem.
