What's up Saleen 308? I'm up in Spring, Texas area...On the DR's??? I have the 16" variety from Nitto, and had BFG prior to that. The BFG on my car hooked better, but are far worse on wet streets and last about 1/3-1/2 the time a Nitto. Remember, this is just my particular car and setup, driving habits, etc. Mine is 95% street/daily driver, and see's an occasional street brawl and 3-4 times at the track. The BFG start with half the tread depth that Nitto has...Nitto is a shaved Extreme tire basically.
If your car is used like mine, I'd definitely go with Nitto...Mine have 18+ months on them and still have decent tread depth. That's about 12-14K miles and about 12 runs at the track including burnouts. I got maybe 7-8K on the BFG.
As to 60' times using a Nitto 17" with your hot setup? With that 347, etc., you will have to try different tire pressures, but 22 psi would be a good start point. At the track, give them a decent burnout of aabout 4 seconds in 2nd gear if possible. The rest is up to you as the driver. I would think with the torque you have, it would be best to launch just off idle to maybe 1500-1800 RPM and then let it rip. I think 2.00 60's is about it as the 17" don't have as much side wall as the 15-16" tires and just don't want to flex or give. If max traction is what you want and money isn't a problem, and, you are VERY CAREFUL on wet roads, the BFG would be most likely the better choice for your car.
Bottom line...I love the Nitto DR's!!! Good luck buddy. Dave
