Quiet Flowmasters

I purchased my 94 GT about 3 months ago and I was under the car recently and noticed that my mufflers were not stock. They had Flowmaster tatooed across them but judging by the sound I would have never guessed that Flowmasters were under there. I thought I might have an exhaust leak so I tightened a few bolts and got a little better sound but still nothing spectacular, just a low resonance between 1,800 and 2,100 rpms. Anybody have any ideas for me? Im not expecting anything tremendously loud; its a stock 5.0 with all catalytic converters and 2 1/2" tips. Open to any suggestions!

they could possibly be the 3 chamber flows. they wouldn't be extremely loud with an otherwise stock exhaust.

they could be the 40 srs deltaflow. i have them on my 91 LX and when i put the stock h-pipe back on for an emissions test, they sounded quiet as hell.

gotta put the offroad back on!!!

exhaust leak

I found today that I have a leak in the exhaust near the front catalytic converter on the passengers side which is also the answer to my other post "vibration @ 1,700 rpms". My buddy and I covered the tailpipes expecting the motor to cut off but it didn't so after further inspection we found the leak. Im gonna replace the stock pipe with another identical pipe I have but Ive bored 2 of the 4 cats out of it. This should fix my leak and solve my lack of sound quality. The mufflers were indeed 40 series 2 chambers though. Thanks for the responses!
