![]() here is the problem guys. I had the set up in my signature. The cam (can't remember exactly) was a decent size crane feeding thru the 69 302 heads (1.90 1.6).
New combo was suppose to be ported e7's, performer rpm intake, stock h.o. cam, and left all the rest the same, other then the fresh bottom end. When I wired the engine up under the H.O. firing order, the car ran like sh*#, but it ran. Switched it to the standard 302 firing order, purred like a kitten. So now I am thinking my fresh engine, actually has a truck cam in it, cause I cant figure what other roller 302 would run the old firing order. So that brings me to the next question. My buddy says I can have his h.o. cam, but I am thinking if I am gonna switch it out, might as well go BIGGER. He may have an alpha cam too. So, b-303, e-303? suggestions are more then welcomed, keeping in mind this car has a set of edelbrock rpm heads (waiting) that I plan on running in the spring. The car has a stronger launch on the bottom end now, but the mid to upper range does not feel one bit stronger. Just for info, the TC in the car with the old combo was rated at 2800 rpm. Ryan

![]() I have a Comp Cams EX cam: 274*/284* .519/.523 110 LSA
It makes tons of low-mid range power in my setup below. They also make XE roller cams. I like my cam but I think I could have gone bigger.

![]() Fair idle, good midrange power. 2,500 to 3,000 rpm stall converter or five-speed recommended. Compression ratio: 9.5:1 to 11.0:1.
224 intake/232 exhaust .339"/.352" .542"/.563" (with 1.6) 112 according to their website. I am not sure this is there stage 2, but it is the second one up?? Ryan

![]() Yes it is. I know a few guys running the stage 2 cam and there cars idle better than mine. My car is faster but my car only weighs 2780 lbs.

Mine idles great, it's the 2k RPM cruise that's not working out for me too well. It wants a higher cruising RPM. I heard the E-Cam does well at low RPM cruising.

![]() Guys, the stage two sounds good, but makes me worried that it might have too much lift for the valve springs I have now....which are slightly stiffer then stock.
If I am following correctly, I can run the stage one with no troubles, but can I run the stage two? Ryan

I'm running a custom Cam Motion cam, (PMmed you about them) and I absolutely 100% love it. I prolly won't run anything else from here on out. Completely re-did my car and 2 things I don't think I could live without, my Cam-Motion cam, and my Pro-Motion tranny. Even though you're building a "mild" street motor, I'd still give Cam Motion a shot. If you're sold on Trick Flow, think about the Stage I with 1.7 rockers.... ![]()

![]() Jester-
There is always one in the bunch, and after checking out the other board, I shoulda known ![]() As for the cam, Kinda looks like trick flow stage one, or cam motion. Decisions ....decisions.....Only thing about cam motion, is I half wonder if the cam they would say to build for the edelbrock heads would be too big for my current springs. Ryan

![]() hey, just wanted to let all you guys know I bought the Trick Flow stage 1. Installed it yesterday and took it for a test spin. Did not want to just let it rip, but I gave it a little hear and there and I REALLY like what I have noticed so far. Down side is, I think my power valve is blown and the darn carb sprang several leaks simultaneously. Needless to say, car will be parked a few days, but I hope to get it dialed in and run it at the track in the next month or so.
Ryan
