Ran my best at the track! Chirped 3rd!

I ran on the Friday just passed and the temperature for the night was 82 degrees. The times are still slow (traction issues) However, it was my best time yet!

This is with 2.73 gears and keeping it in 3rd gear to redline.

RT .590
60' 2.350 http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/eek.gif
1/8 9.605
MPH75.64

1/4 14.689
MPH 97.32

I then iced my intake for 20 minutes before my night-concluding run. I proceeded to rip off my fastest MPH yet!

RT . 745
60' 2.333
1/8 9.691
MPH 75.84

1/4 14.745
MPH 98.58

I was launching at 2000 RPM with clutch slip then flooring it. My biggest problem is when I floor the car in first the tires light up and the tach swings to redline. Then 1-2 more tire spin. Then 2-3 chirping! Ohh well I am happy. Any pointers? http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Hi,
Congrats dude. I haven't run at track
yet, although I am not gonna try clutch
slipping launch with revving. Every time
I do a launch with 1500-2000RPM revving,
I get tire slipping (regular street tires).

I've learned to do an idle launch, where I
let off clutch until it grabs (car moving
slowly), and still idling around 750rpm and
when light goes green, I let go of clutch
and slam the gas. Hardly any tire spin.

Bye!

Cool, i agree with gautam, about the launch, with my 225's i had to kind of let the car rollout first, then slowly let off the clutch till the wheels grab and bog a little, which sometimes they just go up in smoke anyways, (need vht, is good stuff) but with that mph you should get your 60' down to 1.9-2.0 and pull the front swaybar, and see my best time, ran in cooler weather though.

With those grs its hard to cut good 60's though.

If you to have a better 0-60 foot, remove your front swaybar. Some people told me that it only work with sticky tire, but it also work with street tire( i've got toyo process fz4). My best 0-60 with my 2.73 and the swaybar was 2.31, after the swaybar 2.19 launching at 1700 rpm slipping the clutch.(now i have 249 rwhp ,3.55,upper/lower control arm and i have 2.03 0-60 foot with the same tire). Try this, it's free!
