I actually would like to know how some people test there MPG. I frequent a local Mobil station and tend to use the same pump. What I do is hit the trip or write down the mileage. I fill up the tank 'til the auto shut-off of the nozzle, then I squeeze again until the second time the nozzle shuts off, just to be sure it wasn't a fluke. I then travel whatever distance and when I fill up again I use the same exact procedure for filling up. The amount of fuel on the pump read out should be as accurate as possible. You then divide the mileage on your tripometer by the exact amount of fuel used and, hopefully you get as accurate a figure as possible. This is what I do. I posted this because I've heard people say they only get 24 MPG out of a 3 cyl Metro and other people say they get 22 out of a suburban, and I really think they're doing something wrong!!
