Really, really love my crane 1.7's
My new sig says it all, im trapping over 100 mph!
good investment, i didnt expect to see a gain like that, since i didnt have a helmet i only got one pass, with a 1.81 60' and 8.4 1/8th it really hooked, and with 20lbs in the e.t streets, next up, some grs, and lca's, maybe a throttle body....thnx for the help on the install.... also i ground a little material from the upper plenum ports, just a little though. btw, was it necesary to rtv my valve cover gaskets? i didnt, and i think it may be seeping oil, cant tell if it's just excess spill from the work i did.

What was your mph before the 1.7's???? Do you still have the stock valve springs???? Maybe I need to go with 1.7's instead of a cam.
Later,

Well my old sig said 13.47 and best mph 99.80, but usually consistent 99.60, somewhere around there, i gained exactly 2 tenths, air was a bit colder though, intk was iced, but i forgot to mention my timing was near stock, and i forgot tools, so at the track i had to leave it, i usually advance to 15*
so .2 and almost 2 mph, well worth the 200$ shipped to my door, the power band just pulls harder, i can see how....... those stamped rockers are trash, i might also add, these 1.7's arent as noisy as people make them to be, but you can hear the difference. anyone else rtv their valve cover gaskets?

oh yea, i do still have the stock springs, at least the ones that came with the car, i assume are stock, i wanted to change them, along with the lifters, just dont have the time or cash, i did all this in the dark, in my driveway with a little drop light, if i had to do over i could do it in a couple hours.

Damn thats a nice gain........I have some crane 1.7's but I never put them on cause I heard with the stock springs you will float the valves.
Since my 13.6 @101mph I have added a 65mm TB, and I think I will put my 1,7's on as well since you did so great. Later,

I started having valve float about 2-3k miles after the 1.7RR install. I replaced them with a set of Comp springs from Jegs (~$65) and am now able to rev it all the way to the rev limiter
Dark_5.0, if I were you, I'd just install a set of 1.6's and a cam with a decent amount of lift (atleast .510"). The 1.7's are a good cheap upgrade, but 1.6s help keep good valvetrain geometry.

More than likely I will keep the stock rockers and go with an E-303 cam.
Valve train geometry-Are you saying that with 1.7's you put a side load on the valve which causes the valve guides to wear out prematurely? Later,
