I'm not 100% "sold" on this rod ratio thing, but from what I've learned my 9,000 RPM 347 would be MUCH happier at the next smaller level. I literally had the shift light set at 8,800 RPM. These strokers LOVE the revs, ask Jeff!

Now, on to the rod ratio, a 347 has A LOT of "arm" to hang out there, and I've been told by MANY people (guy that built my heads, clutch guy, engine guy {ME!} Camshaft guy, etc etc.) I've been TOLD that this thing WILL come apart, it's just a matter of time. There again, ask me, Jeff, Walt, John, etc etc. I'm just havin a good time with my stock block 600 horses.

And if I can do it with FRPP, then why not? I got those guys on SPEED DIAL.

To quote AC/DC, a 408 is a "touch too much", and a 347 is one step below. We have a 331 runnin a half a click off what the 347 does, so why go there? The 331 is MUCH happier than the 347. So you want to go 408? She'll SCREAM, but not for long!

Scat makes some SERIOUS stuff!!!! NOT shuttin you down on they're products, just pullin the reins in on that 408!
