11.4X vs 11.8X - hmm might have been a closer race had he not missed. Is he asking for a rematch?

Nice race and nice kill!

11.24 vs. 11.85 Yep, already talking rematch. Should be a REALLY close race when he gets his shifting figured out.

Oh, it was .6 not .4 - that's a lot to make up in just shifting - unless he REALLY sucks now.

I'm not sure, but I think a LS1 is a 350, even though it is labeled as a 5.7 liter, and 5.7 only measures out to be 346. My dad works at a GM dealer and the way he explained it to me was most auto makers round the measurements up. How strange would it be to call a LS1 a 5.72? You know a 305 Chevrolet is considered a 5.0 just the same as a Ford 302 is a 5.0. The liters are rounded to the closest tenth. However, I've been known to be wrong quiet a bit.

Thanks guys! I felt really good after that pass.

I was playing games with him ALL day!! Told him I wanted 2 passes before "THE race", cuz I knew he'd be watching. First pass kicked her in neutral at the 1/8th ran a 12.97 @ 42 MPH. He says "What's wrong with the FORD? I said "I dunno!!!"

Second pass I just got off the throttle at 1,000' and went 11.66 @ 92 MPH, told him "I think I got it figured out, are you ready to do this?" Game on.....

Ryan: YEP! We said at the begining of all this, one race, winner take all NO excuses!

Simi:THAT was the fastest I've seen that car go. It's KILLER on the street, but put it on a track, and the shifiting issues rear their ugly head. The car flys, but not on the track.

4barrel: He TOLD me it was 346 cubes. Not sure what an LS1 really is, but I know that one was sprayin at LEAST 150. With all the hype and bullshyt we went through, he TOLD me it was 150. I'm guessing at least 200 to her.

Just for the record, that was my fastest ET to date. That track is notorious for being slow, It's usually .15 slow on the ET, and I lost 3 MPH, and my 60' time was about .06 SLOW. So, I'm really excited about getting her on a good track. <sniff> <sniff> I can smell my 10.99!!!!

Hell, I had him beat in the burnout box! LOVE that tranny, doing the burnout, I shifted twice. That was 3rd gear!

And to boot, not only was I spotting him the bottle, but I'm still running little "pee-pee" headers and 2.5" exhaust. He had open headers!

The more I problems my car gives me, the more I love it.......

So what tranny are you running Jester? I'm guessing an auto? I'm surprised the other guy was running open headers! I thought those LS1s needed at least a little back pressure?! When you say he's fast on the street, is he usually squeezing on the street? I'm sure there is...but do you know of any other mods done to the LS1 besides exhaust & the juice?

Hush yo mouf! I'll slap you for that! LOL Just Kiddin! Clutch car all the way baby!!!! After this bad boy, NEVER own another automatic. Take that to the bank!

It's a Tremec TKO II that has 2-3-4 Faceplate pro-shifted and some other go fast goodies, courtesy of Walt down at Pro Motion Performance! (nice plug there Jester! HA!) Watch my incar camera sometime when you got a minute.

He's ALWAYS spraying it. And if it's really a 150 shot, I'll kiss him all over and not miss his butt! Other mods include one of MY roll cages, I put in the subframe connectors too. THAT I KNOW OF, he also has 4.10's, New cam, cold air intake, mass air, blah blah blah, the usual bolt ons.

Typical LS1 owner, no offense. The LT1 is a 350 and also called a 5.7. The LS1 is also a 350/5.7. We have a guy in my hometown with a WS6 TransAm who swears his engine is a 347 from the factory. He also claims he knows more about his car than GM because he "studies that engine" more than they do. He also gets smoked by Mustangs daily. So, Jester, do me a favor. Keep eating those GM's like candy and make sure to let them know it was a Ford that smoked them.
