![]() I found a guy that will install gears in my Cobra for $200.00 that works at a Ford dealership
![]() Now all I need to do is buy gears. Does the IRS 8.8 take the same ring and pinion gears as the solid axle 8.8. I am stuggling trying to decide which gears to get 4.10's 4.30's or 4.56's. Thanks,

![]() I'd check out this thread. http://forums.mustangworks.com/showt...threadid=33002
3.90s have my vote. I have 3.73s and love them...but if I could do it over...I'd go with the new 3.90s they have available for the 8.8 Mustang rearends. Not sure about the differences with the IRS rear though. ![]() Last edited by Simi Stang; 01-15-2003 at 02:19 PM.. |

As for the gears working w/an 8.8 IRS, the Ford tech that is doing the install for you should know. E

![]() you probably already found out the answer but I bet the modular madness crowd would know more about the IRS than the windsor power folk.
I know you are in here a lot and might not have thought about it but you might get better answers for your cobra questions in the other forum.

![]() In the mod madness forum if you ask a technical question it will have 100 views and no replies.

![]() I browsed around in there a few times but don't really know much about the newer cars and couldn't really care but now that you mention it that is the sort of atmosphere I found there. They aren't real technical. (I know that is kind of general and can't include everyone that visits there)
