Default Which rebuild kit is best for C4?

I'm getting ready to put a C4 together soon. The car will serve as a typical street/strip car and is not a daily driver. I'm not going to go with a transbrake but I would like to use a reverse pattern manual shift set-up. I was wondering what brand you guys use (B&M, ati, etc.) and if you attempted the build-up yourself. My friend tells me with my background I should be able to handle this job but I've never worked on an automatic before. If anyone has some input or experience with the various rebuild kits on the market I'd love to hear what you think of them. Thanks guys.
