Default Springs, Shocks, Struts

After careful consideration about performance and price i just ordered some Mega Byte Jr. lowers and uppers. Now i want to order some springs...but i dont want my car lowered dramatically. I would like improved cornering...but i dont want to give up much at the strip because thats the only place it really gets raced(no road courses) So am i right to stay with progressive rates? I heard BBK progressives were pretty good. I dont want to lower the car more than an inch...i hate scraping!....Since i am going to be installing these items, and its christmas time, why not get some shocks and struts. I dont want to spend everything on my self here so i was wondering if those KYB G2's or whatever are any good. Are Koni or Tokiko that much better? Remember what i want...better handling without loosing time at the track.

I wanted feedback on the kyb's myself, i do nothing but city driving and some weekend dragracing, and need new shocks, but not sure about lakewood struts, i do know my friends has monroe sens-a-trac's on his stroked 11 sec car, and his car rides smoother than mine....

So the monroe sense a tracs shocks/struts offer a smoother ride? How much are they? I might get a set because I am sick of my rough ride.....

I have a set of Monroe Sensatrac shocks and Monroe Formula GP quads that I'd like to pass-on if anyone might be interested.... PM or e-mail me for specifics.

They are great units for the price (Sensatracs)... we use them primarily on all of our customer's cars (Meineke).

If you were to buy them new, they come with a lifetime warranty.. not bad, IMHO.

Do they offer a much smoother ride than the stock set up?

Yes. Monroe Sensatrac shocks and struts have a tapered groove machined into the inside housing. While the piston is in the groove, a soft, comfortable ride is achieved, but when the piston travels above or below the groove, during rough roads or severe handling, the valving stiffens up.

Would they still be decent for drag racing, like as good as stock? My car is daily driven but I visit the track like 5-6 times a year

Well, I went 11.70's w/ 1.5 60ft.'s on 26x10 ET drags with the Monroe shocks still in place... I had the quad shocks removed, however. Had some crappy AVO coilover struts up front, btw.

So yeah, they work just fine.

Any more info on shocks and struts? No one has mentioned springs yet.
