sending unit??
My fuel gauge no longer gives a correct reading. It's almost always reading about a 1/4 of a tank unless I fill it up. Then the needle will rise up to about 3/4s of a tank. But it will never drop down below a 1/4?? Is it my sending unit that needs replaced? Or the float inside the tank? Where exactly is the sending unit? I've pulled my tank before to change my fuel pump...is the sending unit that thing in the center of the tank on top?

I got the same problem and I've been told its the sending unit which I believe is in the center of the tank like you said. I figure it's not worth buying a used sending unit, since there is no way of knowing if it works until its installed. I think new ones run for bout $90-100. Tell me how u do cuz I am thinking of doing the same.

you know what, the more i think of it the more it makes me mad my fuel gauge does the same thing but the odd thing is the fuel light works perfect. But i kinda think it is the way my car sits it kinda sags in the rear. Also when i drive it for a long time it seems that the gas gauge works. Then i park it for a while and it doesnt work right....
