Post Red Hot Headers!!!

I came home tonnight and i was listening to the engine in the garage and the opener light went out so i was in the dark and i noticed that my cars headers where glowing red! i could also see the sparks going through the wires to the plugs and the plugs lighting up! I know that the header thing is not normal. My timing may be off since i have recently removed the distributor. What might cause this, and is it bad??

Red hot headers would lead me to believe that you stabbed the distributor wrong. Check the timing. I'd bet that you're running with ver y little timing; maybe even ATDC.

You could also be running way lean.

Arcing plug wires are bad. Replace them and use dielectric grease in the boots.

Make sure the spout connector is still in. I left mine out once when playing with the timing and had same prob with the red headers.
