Post Removing 5sp Tranny Help???

I need some instruction on how to remove the tranny in my 87 5L thanks...

Drain the tranny the plug on the passenger side.unhook the speedo cable and saftey switch.unbolt the driveshaft and remove.remove the h-pipe.remove the tranny bolts ,remove the crossmember and there you are.Good luck

I just pulled mine, i left the h-pipe in, but that made it harder.

Make sure you have some good 1/2 in drive sockets and extensions, not to bad, maybe put a jack under the t-5 and when you pull the last 15mm, you can lower it down.

you guys all forgot to tell him about the starter and the excellent top bolt on it. the top bolt comes out easiest with a 2' extension, sometimes with a swivel it gets chewed, the bolt is shouldered, so the socket jumps off easy when using a swivel. definitely use a jack to hold the trans before letting the last bolt go. its not a very heavy trans, except when you're lying on your back with your arms fully extended.one more thing , disconnect the clutch cable.
