![]() Hey guys, I have an 89GT vert that is all stock except for removal of air silencer and DynoMax mufflers. A friend of mine gave me a set of underdrive pulleys and I was wondering if removing the Air Pump and assorted hardware more trouble then it's worth? Does it improve anything more then parasitic drag?
PS, there's no smog testing in So. Florida right now. Thanks.....

![]() Doing that alone won't give you any noticeable gain. Maybe 2hp tops.

![]() I bypassed mine cuz it locked up, but i got no gain in e.t.'s, but those things are heavy. so removing it will lighten up the front, and you may have a small gain there.

![]() Take the cats off, too.
You can have no cats and an air pump, but not using an air pump with cats will clog them up and choke your motor.

![]() I'm not a real mechanic but I remember when I removed this fm another car the exhaust fumes where more noticable. I could barely stand it. Then again I also installed an h-pipe w/drilled thru cats. Thanks...I think I'll keep it on cause of the fumes and since it won't make much of a diff, cept shave some weight and about 2hp..........
