Question squeaky speedo cable

Has anyone ever experienced a squeaky speedo cable?
It's been doing it for awhile now and it's getting annoying!
Could I just remove the cluster and speedo cable and apply a little grease on the end of the cable to make it stop?

mine does it too but usually only at low speeds
I've been too lazy to pull the dash apart to fix it

let me know how that works out for you

I tried that to no avail, replacing the cable squelch the annoyance.

Sure did, I sprayed WD40 into the cable and no more squeak! Becareful pulling the cluster all apart though, don't lose any of the bolts, then you'll have a rattle.
