replace a speedometer cable?

I've done a search and found some, but not very detailed in replacing a new speedo cable. Is it very involved to getting it out from behind the speedometer? I've replaced my speedo gear, so that seems pretty straight forward. Any insight would be great.

brad,

it is real simple to do. when you get the switches, pod, and everything in your way removed, just simply unscrew the gauge assembly, pull back on it just enough to where you can see the cable go into the back of the gauge and just simply pinch the ends of the cable, (it is one of those quick connect type connections) and that should do it.

good luck

EASY

I never had to unscrew the gauges or pod assembly on the dash. Just crammed my hands up in there and pinched the cable release thing...take it off the tranny where the speedo gear is...and walla.

Thanks for the responding and the info. I'm planning to do it this weekend.
