![]() I've got my engine apart right now, and was wondering should I retard my F cam 4 degrees or leave it straight up? Using the Desktop Dyno 2000 (Yeah I know its really acurate, not) it does suggest at least that I'll gain a little bit of power but also a better lobe seperation, which may help idle?!? Any suggestions. My mods are in my sig which I need to update some small stuff.

![]() I have the F-cam in my car. and I love I have installed "straight up". Retarding the cam will kill what little bottom end you have already, unless you plan to spin that motor well over 6000r's If anything I would say advance the cam 4 degress and then do a compression check and do a compression check with the cam set at 0. use the setting with the highest readings. that little blue bottle will do the rest, I know I have one too. 11.96@118 on slicks. my .02 hope it helps!

![]() I talked to a guy at the track with a 01 hatch, he had his e-cam retarded 2 degrees i believe, yes E-cam, but he was runing mid 12's, at 115 mph, and with a severely ported stock intake, he had chassis work, suspension, all the good mods on a 306, on a 100 shot he went 11.3 missing 4th gear, it was all over the track, and on 28x11.5 e.t. streets.

![]() Thanks for the replies. I tried to see if I could retard it 4 degrees and I don't have enough room, when I try to spin the motor over by hand it stops part way, so I think I'm just gonna go straight up.
Yeah, a 125 shot is really fun, I went slower E.T. wise, but went from 106 or so to 114.7 only using the juice in 3rd and 4th because I knew I had terrible traction. |

![]() Shogun's advice about using a compression tester is the best way to determine the best setting.
Take care, -Chris
