![]() Where is the air silencer on a 1994 and do you get horsepower by removing it? Another words is it worth removing it?

![]() Look under the air box where the filter is. It should be under there in the fenderwall attached to the airbox.
Yes, it's worth removing it. It's about 5 free horspower for ya!

![]() The silencer on the 94-98 stangs is the big black plastic box that is right behind the passenger side headlight. That and cat back exhaust were the first things I did to my car. I would remove it if I was you. Your car will breath a lot better and get free hp. I would replace the whole thing with a cold air intake or a K&N filtercharger. I got the filtercharger first not thinking about cold air, but they were actually the same price. The cold air kit that I got was from MAC and it came with chrome pipe and in my opinion looks a lot better. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions just ask.

![]() I noticed that you have a V6 stang, I don't think you're going to get a very large gain from removing the air siliencer. I mean, you probably won't even get a small gain.
I don't even know how the 3.8 V6 responds to the removal of the air silencer. I think the new 4.6's don't like it and it actually removes power. I'd do a little more research first. |
