I "found" a 6AL Ignition inside the front piece of kit by the fog lights and there is a fuse type opening for the rev limiter control modules. But I don't know about Crane. Why don't you get a current issue of MM&FF or 5.0 Mustang, look for the ad, and call 'em?

I have a Crane Fireball HI-6S.
You hook up the stage rev limiter by having it go to a 12 volt source. You put a switch in their because it should normally be open. Or, you just don't hook it up at all.

i'm not understanding the normally-open switch part? explain please

from what i can gather from the instructions, the digital input(yellow wire) needs 12 volts. so why do you need a switch? is it for when the car is turned on and off(is that what they mean by normally-open)

The yellow wire goes to the coil. The orange wire is for stage rev limit. I think it is initially set to 1000rpm or something. It can act like a valet switch. If it's connected to 12 volts it will activate the rev limit. If not, it will just work normally. That's the switch I'm talking about.

I guess I'm confused about what you are asking. The most basic hookup goes like this. The red wire goes to the coil connector (female) with the red and light green wire. The white trigger wire goes to the dark green and yellow wire on the coil connector. The red wire should have a "Y" that also goes to the male terminal that the red an light green wire would normally go to. The yellow wire should go to the other male terminal on the coil.

If this isn't what you're after, let me know. Maybe we can meet in the chatroom to figure it out.

I'm trying to hook up the digital rev limiter on the HI-6S.

The directions specifically say, to activate the rev limiter functions connect the digital input(yellow/white wire) to a normally-open switch supplied with 12V?

Then your suppose to be able to adjust rev limit between 3,100-9,900 rpm on the rotary switches on the unit?

My question is about the normally-open switch? Does that mean when the car is off it's open and when it's running it's closed?

Hmm, that's a lot different than my HI-6S.

I think all that means is that the 12V is only there when the ignition is on. The red and light green wire on the coil connector would meet that requirement.

From what i've gathered i think the rev limiter basically needs 12V to be activated.
So i guess the switch is for your pleasure?

Yeah, if you wanted to stop a valet from pulling a "Ferris Bueller" on you you could rig a switch so that the engine could only rev to 3300 rpms or something. I just have mine taped off. I went to the Crane sight and you have a newer model than me. My staging rev limit range is lower than yours.
