![]() This is for all you stangers who have had both in the of these gears in your aod. I am switching from 3.73 to 4.10 in my aod 87 stang. How much seat of the pants difference can I expect from this switch? In your opinions is this switch worth it?? Guess Ill find out for myself tomorrow, just hoping for encouragement I guess. Haha. Ill be sure to say what I think of it too.
Thanks |

![]() I had the option to completely remove the AOD and converted to a T-5 manual, with 373 gears, and let me tell ya, I picked up nearly 1 full second in the quarter mile. 410's in an AOD will get you there quicker than 373's but you will be toping out in drive at the 1/4 mile. For me I found that the ford automatic tranys cant give you the seat in your pants thrill that a manual trany can give you.But thats just my $0.02

![]() I made the switch you are doing, 3.73s to 4.10s in an AOD, and yes, it is worth it. It is a great improvement...feels like another jump up like the original.

![]() I made the 3.73 to 4.10 switch also. Huge SOTP improvement as well as 1/4mi improvement. You will be very glad you did it, well worth the money.

![]() thanks a lot for all of your replies, I can already feel a big difference and I cant even really test it yet since I am still letting the gears settle in. It really is a test of the willpower not to smoke em!
