rollbar for the 1997 Mustang V-6 Convertible

I am looking for a roll bar for my Mustang. I am looking for any advice as to what I should do. I want to also know if this will require welding to the frame or what kind of work is involved. I am not very mechinacally inclined so please put any advice in plain english.

Well, why are you looking to add a roll bar in your V-6 Mustang? http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/confused.gif Do you road race or drag race or is this for show? If you drag race one is not needed till 11.99 in a hard top or 13.99 in a vert. They add weight and unless you need one it will only make your car slower, but it will add strength and saftey.

Some companies offer full bolt in roll bars, Maximum Motorsports, S&W, Kenny Brown etc.. this requires no welding and from what I hae been told are very easy to install.

Most companies also offer weld in roll bars and cages, they require Welding and a fair amount of skill and tools to do the install correctly, this will require gutting the interior to do the work.
