RPM calculator for gear changes

Hey, Randy's Ring and Pinion has a great calculator to find what RPM you'll be spinning with size "X" tires and gear "X". It even figures out the tire height and tells you the RPM for manual or auto. the site is www.ring-pinion.com.

we have the same thing here, called the analyzer, i went and check that link out and it is good for finding tire sizes the analyzer we have here give more info such as: for each gear, rpm's for each 10 mph and also mph for each 100 rpm's very helpfull for figuring cruise speed and also can help with shift point if u know your hp curve.

Hah, depress yourself with the optimum shift point calculator at http://www.prestage.com/

Inputing the ratios for a T-5 (2.95, 1.94, 1.34, 1.00, .65) and simulated engine power curve, The 1st to 2nd shift only resulted in a loss of 170 ft/lbs @ 7000 rpm. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/frown.gif extending the power to 12000 rpm showed a gain if I shifted at 8000 rpm in later shifts! (like a hydraulic roller motor could rev that high! and produce). Helpful none the less

I wish we had a chart for speedo gears. I have 4.30s and a tremac and 28 tires. And the wrong speedo gear.

I've got a javascript calculator on my site that lets you put in the tire size to figure the correct gear. It also gives the error you'll see in your speedometer.

Just follow my sig and go to the Tech Articles section.
