Post RPM Intake...yes or no for my car???

Howdy,

Just wanted to get your opinion on this.

I know of a guy selling an excellent condition Performer RPM intake.

What I need to know, is will this work well with my combo. Here it is:

-Stock block built 306

-Reconditioned stock rods and polished crank

-Mildly ported Windsor Jr. Iron heads (light bowl and chamber work, competition valve job)

-Wolverine 1087 cam (222/232 @ .05, .510'/.534', 112 LSA)

-10:1 compression

-76mm MAF

-1 5/8" headers

-no cat H-pipe

-Flows

-AOD with 2800 rpm PI converter (non lock-up) & Transgo shift kit

-3.73's

The car is doggin' on me now with a fully open exhaust path and a majorly restricted intake and TB. As soon as I swapped those headers, I lost a bunch of torque. Air velocity is WAY down now that air is being sucked through that tiny stock intake and TB into a fully opened engine and exhaust path.

I know I will gain power and torque with the RPM intake, but is it better than the Performer??

Let me know what you think. This will almost finish my combo.

Thanks!

I believe that the RPM Perf intake would
match the rest of your setup quite well. I think you can check it out at the Edelbrock website and what rpm it works best at, etc. With your heads and cam & headers, it should fit the bill for your rpm range better than the Performer which pretty much signs off around 5k or so.
