SCAT crankshaft
I went to FLATLANDERacing.com and looked at the spec. for the 351W SCAT crank (3.850) This is for the 393 ci 351W stroker. The spec stated: "Combined with stock Windsor rods 5.956" length and 302 piston 1.608" compression height" . I don't know of any "stock" 302 piston with that deck height. I've looked in the book and it has for 1968-72 1.600" ,1973-76 1.605" and for 1977 (and that's as far as it goes) 1.616 . Does anyone know of a specific 302 piston with that deck height (1.608)? Or can another 302 piston be used like "73-76" 302 piston at 1.605 since that is close? I wanted to order a rebuild kit with some flat-tops for increased compression but if I'm looking at custom 302 pistons than there would not be any savings in getting the SCAT stroker crank for my 351 over buying an already built shortblock..... any Ideas and responses would greatly B appreciated! Someone that has actually built this engine or has experience with the specifics is the one I'd like to hear from. Thanks guys
