Default 5 lug conversion

HI all,

awhile back I posted about an electrical problem which I finally tracked down to be a missing body ground strap.
yay! thanks for all the input from everyone who doesn't remember me, you guys rock.

something new...

the beast is an 85 GT Hatchback, with a 2.74 (2.73) posi (though I guess technically it's limited slip) rear end.

what I think I know about the 5 lug conversion (please correct me when I'm wrong)

front rotors from a (what year) Lincoln Mark VIII, have the same bearing size and all, so they literally fit right on? (do the Mustang's calipers stay?)
that would be sweet if that were true.

and two left axles (and drums) out of two (what year?) Rangers, and they slip right in and suddenly you have 5 lugs?
can't possibly be that simple.

I'm sure there's somewhere a beautiful tech write up on this because I'm sure I'm not the first one to bring it up.
I'd love to see such a write up.
or if some very experienced one feels up to writing a new one, I'd love that too.

thanks for all input.
-Josh

Here's another site that details a rear disc, 5-lug conversion:

Thanks so much guys!

this looks like all the info I need.
now I just need to go junkyard hunting.

I'm fully confident in my abilities to swap out the fronts, having messed with that whole kind of setup bunches of times.

the rear on the other hand I have no experience with, and am not sure about the whole axle-seals and what not.

any input on the rears would be appreciated!

Exclamation wait!

hey Eye. before you go to the junkyard, what wheels are you going to put on it? it will make a difference of what "kind" of 5 lug conversion you do.

SRV,

I'm planning on putting on the 15x7 rims that I've had on my Ranger for the past year on.
they were new take-offs from a 2000 V6 Mustang.
the six-spoke ones.

oh no! don't tell me the bolt pattern is different!
