V10 conversion
Has anyone ever dropped a V10 in a mustang. Looking under the hood there appears to be plenty of room. Overflow tank might have to be relocated? Anything else that would have to be changed out, other than the obvious: computer, fuel rails, wiring harness, etc.

Uhhh....thats so sick, Ford needs to do a factory V-10 intsall!!!!
BOSS 6.8 anyone??. I suppose the V-10 heads are like the 5.4 heads which I hear are like the P.I heads. In a similar state of tune to the GT your talking 390 hp (56 hp per liter), and 443 ft/lbs. of torque (65 ft/lbs per liter). And I'm guessing it would be tad lighter than the S/C Cobra? I just read somewhere that a stripped 02 V6 weighs 3070 lbs. So I'm guessing that a stripped Boss 6.8 would weigh like 3300 lbs and maybe a loaded one 3500 lbs? letter writting campaign anybody!?

Search the internet. I saw one in a 97 GT. I forgot where at but it bolted right up to the T45. It was a Triton V10. They could not get the cooling system up to par for that engine. Running a 100 shot and shifting at 5000 he saw mid-low 12's. Torque was monstous. It would not even think about hooking up with stock tires. It also made the car REAL nose heavy.
PS It bolted right up to the factory 4.6 GT motor mounts.

I saw one in a mag. one time. But they couldn't find a hood to cover it.
Anything will fit, if you've got the time, money, and skills. But if your looking to go fast, there are better, cheaper ways to do it.

http://www.highlander.stangnet.com/v10.htm The second one is the one i was talking about in a previous post. It's funny how stuff can get turned around in your head after not seeing it for a while. It took me forever to find it again.

Yeah I can hear it!
BOSS 6.8 or would that be BOSS 412 Maybe they could bore it .030 and then you could call it a BOSS 69 , as homage to the original, of course I wonder what it would cost?

arent you guys happy enuff knowing that you can stick a 5.4 in you car?! ..if you ask me and alhgout i dangled with some new cobras i am a windser man that the v-10 would be like me putting a 460 in a FOXbody..too heavy and too much $$ for what you can do for a whole lot cheaper(351 stoked)

Naw I'm talking cheap and easy factory power here. I bet it cost less to build the 6.8 than it does the DOHC motor in the Mach 1. and probably weighs less than the S/C powerplant. the only downside I can see is that you have 2 extra cylinders hanging past the front wheels, but I'm sure the suspension could be tuned to help offset the extra ovehang.
