i was wondering if it is possible to put a dash from a 87-93 mustang in my 83. Does anyone know if the wiring harness connections are the same? ( Drivers side kick panel). I have seen a few with this modification but still retain the 83 nose and headlamp assembly. Im sure i could just convert to the 87-93 nose but i really dont want too. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated

Ok, speaking as someone who has basically replaced practically every wire in the entire car (cause it was all screwy and shorting out) and threw most of them out, I would have to say nay nay. The wiring to the 87-93 console uses a pair of plugs to supply signals through this plastic sheet with traces to operate the gauges on the console. It's conceiveable that you could snip and splice till everything worked and I doubt it would be nightmarishly bad, but it would be a project. I know some things like......the oil level sender??... use a module and you would need to obtain it and wire it up.
Honestly, I'd be interested in going from my 87-93 dash to the earlier 79-85 dash. I think the older analog looking gauges on the old dashes and the recaro seats are sexy. My humble opinion is stick with what you got.
