![]() farily recently i did the aod-T5 swap
with my AOD it seemed to run quicker when i shifted from 2nd to 3rd at a higher RPM than 1st-2nd, i had my shift light set at 5300 but on the 2-3 shift i waited just about 100-200rpm later to shift and i was consistently quicker, my question to you guys is should i shift at exactly the same RPM at every shift or should i shift higher when going from 3-4 or 2-3? i now have my light set at 5400 and have only got 3 runs at the track so i havent had a chance to really test and tune it since the swap ------------------ 88 Notch, B&M Ripper, 3.73's, Ported E7's, Explorer int. w/ ported lower, pulleys, 1.7RR's, BBK headers, off-road H-pipe, flowmasters, subframes, 65mm TB, March ram air ,MSD coil, U/L control arms, 155lph f/p, Crane Adj.FPR, Nitto drag radials, best 1/4--> 13.76@101.4 on a 2.17 60ft |

![]() I think a lot of people actually do the opposite.
They shift at higher rpms from 1-2, then down a 100 or 200 from 2-3 then maybe another 100 to 4th. Myself I shift at 5800rpms on my stock tach, so somewhere between 4500 and 6500rpms. LOL |

![]() that what i do, i shift around 5500 1-2 then drop a bit on each shift when racing, the rpm's drop more in the lower gears so you need to wind it up a bit higher to keep in your power band after the shift
