Smile Shift light/ignition coil/tach wire?? (please help!)

I just got my shift light and to hook it up, the directions say to hook up one wire to ground (ok easy) one wire to 12v (also easy) and the third to either the tach signal wire or "the switched side of the ignition coil.

I assume the "switched side" of the coil is one of the wires going into it, but there are two...so which one do you think I hook it to?

OR

could you tell me where the tach signal wire is...
(on knees) plllllllllllease help.., need it for racing this weekend!!

the green wire coming off the negative side of the coil is your tach output.. DO NOT SPLICE THIS WIRE add with BUTT CONNECTORS the splice will cause a short and stall the car out sometime in the future.

ok, I dont get what you are saying. dont splice it, but use butt connectors? Those are the tube splicers right?
I take it I cant use the quick splice connectors (the kind you clamp in)
So how would I go about tapping into it?
