Shocking isn't it
Haven't decided on a good ignition system for my pony. Please help me choose between the 2 I have narrowed it down to. MSD-8500 or the Crane Cams Hi-6s ignition and coil Ford Performance Kit. Thanks in advance.

I would recommend the MSD 6AL. I did a lot of research on ignition systems. Everything I read and everyone in the know I spoke to said to go with it. I love it.....good price too.
Good luck with your choice. ------------------ '90 LX 5.0; 12K original miles (no sh*&); 3.55 gears; pulleys;Edelbrock Performer Heads; BBK shorties; MSD 6AL box w/ blaster 2 coil; Motorsport E303 cam; Pro-M 75mm MAF; BBK 70mm TB; Eibach spring kit; Southside sub-connectors; K&N cone filter charger; Hurst shifter; fiberglass cowl hood; A/C-less; rear seat-less; cat-less; Flomasters; Corbeau racing seats (fronts); 30# injectors; 190 lb fp FPR; TFS Twisted Wedge Intake 12.513 @ 108 mph (Pre-inj/fuelpump/FPR/ intake) |

Go with the MSD6AL, as it is very upgradable and expandable. The Jacobs ignition is good, but they don't last long, as I've seen 4 systems on mustangs that each didn't last more than a year.

Get an MSD 6 AL, I have a few buddies using it for their cars, and it really works well.
It has three different intensity sparks that it delivers depending on RPM's. Plus the easy swap in and out rev pills. ------------------ 89 black GT, 5 spd flex-a-lite electric fan flowmaster cat-back + h-pipe MSD Blaster coil FMS 9mm wires |

I've got an MSD 6A (just like the AL without the limiter)and I'm very happy with it. I've heard of the Crane's having some serious problems (like catching fire) in the past.

Stay away from Jacobs. They are crap. They advertise a 17 HP increase and 22 increase in torque on a stock 5.0 engine with their ignition system..lol. If you believe that, do I have a deal for you...
