Should I bother changing O2 sensors with the offroad
I wanted to change my O2 sensors in my coupe, but I don't know if I should or not with the offroad just messing with the readings...my gas mileage has been falling lower and lower lately and it is starting to get on my nerves

I just recentally changed the o2's on my off road h-pipe and noticed a difference in milage and performance. It smoothed out my idle and gave me better range with my fuel supply. It was worth it for my car. Light Em Up!!

The oxy sensors tell the computer how well stuff is burning, and therefore are important on any EFI car. No matter what your car, EFI or carbed, clean emmisions are important, cause if the emmisions are less than optimal for your setup, your obviously not burning efficiently and loosing power.

Before you go out and spend the money on the sensors, check the computer. It will throw codes if the O2 readings are off. Money spent elsewhere, you know what I mean?

Last time I checked my codes it spit out O2 sensor problems. I haven't gotten the greatest of milage either. They are the sensors that came from the factory with the car in 88. I knew I probably needed them, but never really thought about it. I bought all of this other bullsh!t and I should have worried about a properly running engine.
How much of a gain in mpg's did you see? How about power wise did it make the car accelerate smoother or just make the engine run better overall? |
