Should I replace anything else with head swap?
Well as I mentioned an another post I am finally putting my heads in and I was wondering if there is anything else I should replace besides the gaskets, etc. While I have everything off. Thanks in advance....

Many recomend new head bolts every time the heads are removed. Probably good advice with lots of other add-on's etc. Also a real good time to consider a new intake since it will be removed during the swap. You could also swap a new cam in with not much more work.

If your motor has very many miles on it and still on the same double roller chain..i would replace it.

Stock head bolts on a stang can only be used once. Once you remove them from the stock heads they are toast. Get some ARP head bolts, it will be well worth it.

The stock head bolts are called torque to yield bolts, and while I have no idea what that means they can only be used once. If you use them again, you will not have the correct ft. lbs. and could cause gasket failure.

oooh 5.0's use the torque to yeild bolts, I was unaware of that newer GM engines use them too. Obviously those have to be replaced as they stretch during installation. Even regular head bolts are recomended to be replaced for higher Hp engines. I re-used the head bolts twice in my mild 305 which pumps out 275 hp or so.
